Fitness Trainer

RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Work with adult and adolescent patients of all fitness
levels, with an emphasis on proper technique and functional movements
+ Demonstrate how to
carry out various exercises and routines. Give alternative
exercises during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness and skill
+ Monitor patients?
progress and adapt programs as needed
+ Explain and enforce
safety rules and regulations on sports, recreational activities, and the use of
exercise equipment
+ Give patients
information or resources about nutrition, weight control, and lifestyle issues
and their application to substance use recovery
+ Design workouts activate the neuroendocrine response
(responsible for the ?runner?s high?)
+ Provide education on maintaining a healthy lifestyle,
which may also minimize drug cravings, serve as a positive distraction and is a
beneficial way to structure the day without using drugs or alcohol
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
+ Bachelor?s
degree related to a fitness field (exercise science, physical education,
kinesiology or related subject)
+ International
Fitness Professional Association certification preferred
+ CPR and
First Aid certification
EXPERIENCE
+ Minimum
three (3) years of related experience working with patients with substance
use disorder or PTSD
+ Experience
as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
+ Excellent verbal and written communication
skills. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, and
interact with staff and patients.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and
discern who has a need to know sensitive data or information
+ Ability to instill and maintain a strong
customer service environment and a sense of professionalism within a stressful
environment
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced
environment
+ High comfort level with technology,
including proficiency in MS Office products
+ Ability to establish and consistently
enforce appropriate boundaries with patients
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Maintain current certifications as required
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS
+ Must have
a high degree of energy, be physically fit and have the endurance to
complete workouts and lead groups and physically demonstrate proper use of
equipment and sports techniques
+ Frequently
required to walk, sit, stand, run, talk and hear
+ Must use
hands and feet to operate objects and equipment
+ Stoop,
kneel, crouch or crouch and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
+ Exposure
to patients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other Infectious
Diseases is possible
SCHEDULE:
Days can be flexible based upon applicant availability, shift 10:30am ? 4:00pm (some flexibly with hours)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
